About

The Mini Lai Scholarship Fund was created out of love—love for Mini Lai, a talented illustrator and proud alumnus of Art Center College of Design (ACCD). It honors her memory by granting scholarships to ACCD illustration students and inspiring them to pursue their dreams no matter what challenges life presents.

The fund is made possible by the generous donations of her family and friends. It is managed by the respected California Community Foundation and awarded by the prestigious ACCD Illustration Department.

During college at the University of California, Irvine, Mini was diagnosed with congenital heart disease, which ultimately required her to receive a heart transplant. With this second chance at life, she pursued her life-long passion for art, studying at the renowned ACCD and then building a promising career.

While she was at ACCD, Mini received generous scholarships. The fund exists to give back to these donors and continue their spirit of charitable giving.

To assist more ACCD illustration students, the fund seeks to raise money through special events, like The Mini Show. Mini leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and hope. Through the Mini Lai Scholarship Fund, we can cherish her memory and inspire ACCD illustration students to dream and take on the world.
